Our History

Relevant Church Inland Empire is an evangelical, charismatic church.  This means that we are dedicated to studying the Word of God and staying true to the scriptures.  We believe that the Bible is the only infallible Word of God.

Relevant Church Inland Empire began as a daily conference call prayer line in January 2010 and was established as a church on September 26, 2010 when 36 individuals, twenty adults and sixteen children, met at the home of Stan and Lula Mixon located at 2545 Leroy St. in San Bernardino, California for the first of six “pre-Launch” monthly services.  At the conclusion of the these “pre-launch” services, this group of committed believers moved to the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel locate on 4th Street in Ontario, California on Sunday, February 13, 2011 to officially launch the church.  73 people gathered that day to initiate our weekly services.

August 7, 2011, the church relocated to Solorio Elementary School located at 15172 Walnut St. in Fontana, CA where it currently holds its Sunday Worship Services.  The church continues to grow with regular attendees each year.

In March 2016, Relevant Church leased a commercial retail space located at 15375 Baseline Ave, Suite #6 in North Fontana.  This new acquisition – The  ARC – serves as the Administration and Resource Center.  It is currently used to host our Sunday Morning Worship Services, Wednesday Night Bible Study, small groups, counseling, training, personal & business development, youth ministry, special events and more!  It also serves as a computer lab, business center and educational learning center.

Relevant Church was birthed out of the Pentecostal tradition.  In 1907, a man by the name of William Seymour visited Los Angeles to attend what many consider the most significant outpouring of the Holy Spirit since the day of Pentecost in Acts 2; the Azusa Street Revival.  The revival began at a small on Bonnie Brae Street, but later moved to a warehouse on Azusa Street.  Charles Harrison Mason attended that revival and later founded the Church Of God in Christ, Inc., which would become the largest primarily African-American Pentecostal church in the world with a reported 6.2 million members.

While Relevant Church recognizes its roots in the Church Of God in Christ, it remains a non-denominational church and is dedicated to being a Practical Bible Teaching, Spirit-Let, Christ-Centered, Multicultural Fellowship with a Dynamic Children’s Ministry.
